Bomen-Bloemenbuurt
Bordering on the Valkenboskwartier and the Vruchtenburt, this neighborhood was built between 1911 and 1923 and built on an ancient beach wall.
In 1901, the architect H.P. Berlage expanded the neighborhood to include many characteristic squares and long streets. During the war, a large part of the Bomenbuurt was destroyed to built the German Atlantikwall. Later, the Segbroeklaan and several apartment buildings were placed here.
Characteristic for this neighborhood is the easy access to several beaches and the Laan van Meerdervoort (wit hits 5800 meters the longest avenue in Europe).
The Pomonaplein, the Fahrenheitstraat and the Savornin Lohmanplein provide us with a good variety of restaurants and shops.
The Bomen-Bloemenbuurt mostly has (renovated) apartments, single family homes and is perfect for young families with children and the elderly.
